Bowring Park Golf Course & Coach House Update

Since December 2022, Root Catering Ltd has been operating the Coach House at Bowing Park on behalf of Oneday, the managing agents for the Bowring Park and Golf Course site.

On 29 January 2024, Root Catering Ltd, announced they would cease trading with immediate effect and with no prior notice received by Oneday.

Oneday immediately stepped in to safeguard the jobs and within three days, Oneday issued new contracts to all 17 members of staff that were previously employed by Root. 

This led to the Coach House being closed for a number of days, but we are aiming for the Coach House to reopen on Thursday 8th February.

Once the Coach House is back up and running, we will be hosting some focus groups which will give anybody the chance to meet the Oneday and Bowring Park team and tell us what you want to see at the Park, including the Coach House.

Oneday Ltd. is committed to continuing to invest in Bowring Park, its staff and the community and it will continue to do so.

In the two years that Oneday has been managing Bowring Park and Golf Course, the transformation and the feedback from all visitors has been incredibly positive. Local residents and regular visitors have seen massive improvements that Oneday have led and invested in, within the Park and on the Golf Course.

To date we have created 60 jobs, delivered 14 capital projects including 2 new playgrounds, hosted numerous events, introduced new offers, invested in equipment and much more. In the process, delivering £1.35m of economic, and £4.4m of social impact, securing the future of Bowring Park and Golf Course for generations to come. 

Feedback has been unanimous that Bowring Park has changed for the better since April 2022, and Oneday will continue to shape and develop the Park’s offers to suit everybody’s needs.

We designed, managed and funded the fit-out of the Coach House in 2022 and were delighted to enter into partnership with Root, whose energy and incredible team delivered a vibrant destination. As partners we were happy to provide ongoing financial, business, operational and personal support and looked forward to an exciting year ahead together. We’re sad to see Alex and Dan go but have no doubt that their next projects will be a success.
